Within the framework of the “Development of Civic Initiatives in Rural Areas” project, we continue to share the results of small grants.
One of the notable examples was a project implemented on the basis of the mini-workshop “Fresh Vitamin,” within which a series of practical meetings and master classes was organized for school students and learners of educational institutions. The project aimed to develop healthy eating habits, promote an environmentally friendly lifestyle, and provide initial career guidance in the field of agricultural product processing.
During the project, 15 training sessions were held with the participation of students from the School of Children’s Creativity, schools named after Y. Altynsarin, Pavlov, S. Kobeev, School No. 1 in Tobyl, as well as representatives of the Agricultural College. The total number of participants reached 118 people.
Each session included practical master classes: making fruit chips, producing cold-pressed oil and juice, and sprouting sunflower seeds. Participants became familiar in practice with the full cycle of plant raw material processing — from product preparation to obtaining a finished healthy product.
To conduct the master classes, specialized equipment was purchased: an oil press, a seed sprouter, a juicer, a slicer for cutting vegetables and fruits, and a dehydrator. This equipment was actively used at all sessions and enabled participants to gain real practical skills in working with production machinery.
