Last week, a number of civic initiatives were implemented across the regions of Kazakhstan, ranging from seminars and consultations for NGOs to digital and youth projects.

In North Kazakhstan Region, 21 people took part in a seminar on the development of public oversight. In Akmola Region, 100 young people participated in the labor season as part of the “Zhasyl El” program and planted 1,200 seedlings. In Astana, a child safety campaign was held, while residents of Akmola Region learned the basics of digital safety as part of the “Digital Bridge” project.

Seminars, meetings, and discussions were held in Atyrau, Jetisu, West Kazakhstan, Ulytau, and Kyzylorda regions for activists and NGO representatives. The events focused on civil society development, public oversight, NGO support, mediation, and the preservation of cultural values.

Kazakhstan to Launch a Digital Platform for Parliament

Tokayev instructed the creation of the e-Parliament information system to support lawmakers in their legislative work.

Key points:

• The platform will bring digital services together within a single ecosystem and identify legal risks at the stage of drafting legislation.
• The system is to be implemented as soon as possible, with relevant government bodies working jointly with members of Parliament.
• Tokayev emphasized that technology will not replace legal expertise but will help improve the productivity of analytical work.
