Protecting Youth Safety — Joint Raid by the Medeu District Police Department and the Public Council of Almaty
On the night of April 17–18, a large-scale preventive raid was conducted in Almaty with the participation of the Public Council of Almaty, the Police Department, the Department of Youth Policy, and the Zhastarmen youth movement.
The main objective was to prevent offenses among teenagers and monitor compliance with legislation during nighttime hours.
Inspections were carried out at a number of entertainment venues, including computer clubs and nightclubs. Particular attention was paid to compliance with Article 442 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which prohibits minors from staying in entertainment venues from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
During the raid:
— minors were identified in night-time entertainment venues;
— cases of alcohol and tobacco use were recorded;
— instances of insufficient supervision by legal representatives were identified.
Appropriate measures were taken in accordance with the law in response to all identified violations.
Such joint efforts are an important step toward ensuring youth safety, preventing offenses, and fostering a sense of responsibility among both teenagers and parents.
